Pokemon Go now in PH

The much-awaited mobile game that garnered over 100 million downloads worldwide is now officially available in the Philippines as American software company Niantic, Inc. launched Pokemon Go in 15 more countries on Saturday.

In an article written by Angelo Gonzales and Don Kevin Hapal for Rappler on August 6, 2016, it was disclosed that the company formally announced the launch via Facebook at around 9 a.m., Philippine time.

While the game was first introduced in certain countries in July, Asian mobile users did not get to experience the cartoon-based app immediately due to regional restrictions while some resorted to illegal means of downloading the software.
According to reports published by technology websites, Niantic, Inc. is earning an average of $10 million per day since the game was released in North America and Australia.
Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) reminded Filipino users to exercise extreme caution when using the app; which can cause untoward incidents to happen.
“Huwag maglaro ng Pokemon Go habang tumatawid. Ituon ang mata sa kalsada at huwag kalimutang lumingon sa kaliwa’t kanan [Do not play Pokemon Go while crossing the street. Focus your eyes on the road and do not forget to look to your left and right],” the agency posted on Twitter.

“Kung ‘di mapigilang maglaro, tumawid gamit ang designated pedestrian footbridges ngunit siguraduhing alisto sa paligid habang naglalakad [If you really have to play, cross using the designated pedestrian footbridges but remain alert about your surroundings while walking],” the MMDA added.
