So apparently, a teenage dude had died from the love bites, or more commonly known as ‘hickeys’, which his girlfriend had allegedly given him after spending an evening with him. The 17-year-old guy named Julio Macias Gonzalez in Mexico City, died of stroke because of the blood clot that has been caused by the hickeys that travelled all the way through his brain. The guy, according to his family, just started having convulsion all of a sudden while they were at their dinner table. Hickeys were apparently the cause of his death since the blood clot had been allegedly travelled throughout his brain and caused him his death.
His 24-year-old girlfriend was being blamed by the family of Julio because of his death, and was now missing in action from the authorities. Paramedics tried to revive the boy but they have failed to save his life.
A similar story has occurred back in 2011 to a woman, 44 years of age. The woman has been supposedly paralyzed by the same incident caused by hickeys. The suction had caused the blood to clot and it travelled all the way to her heart. She had lost movement in her left arm after the romantic encounter and has been rushed to the hospital. Doctors were not able to figure out why until they have noticed the fading bruises on her neck that had damaged a major artery underneath. Fortunately, the woman did not die of love bites, but she had lost the capacity to entirely move her arm and was permanently paralyzed.
Love bites are caused by the suction of the skin causing bruises wherein blood vessels burst. Typically, it is caused by a person sucking on a small area of another person’s skin, particularly or more commonly onto the neck. These hickeys or love bites usually lasts up to 12 days and the only way to cure them aside from covering it with makeup is to put ice on it to reduce the swelling.
