For the launch party of the First Look Events this incredible (and edible) amethyst wedding cake was made which has gone viral, turning the heads of bridezillas near and far. The amazing cake is very beautifully detailed and chances are, cakes with as much bling as the bride’s ring are going to show up at a wedding near you.
Rachel from Intricate Icings is one talented baker, and this gorgeous cake does a great job highlighting just that. All of the intricate detailing is made of edible sugar and tastes just as good as it looks.
The cake was no easy feat to put together, Rachel shared with Bored Panda, “This cake took about 16 hands-on hours to create with several more hours of planning involved prior to making the cake.”
As for the inspiration behind the cake, “I was given several pieces of inspiration to draw ideas from, including actual geodes, a beautiful illustration, and a variety of table decor items like plates, chargers, and geometric floral arrangements. I knew I wanted to create a show stopping cake and use the geode as the focal point creating an awe-inspiring visual experience for the guests.”
“The stunning ‘Joy’ inspired vignette showcased a variety of geodes. It included rich textures, deep colors and lots of light letting the natural beauty and shape of geodes lead the design. Joy speaks of experiencing something that pleases the eye, warms your heart or soothes the soul.”
