The Airlander 10, which is also known as the world’s largest aircraft, looks like a giant ass. It took off for the first time today and apparently, it was supposed to take voyage on Sunday, but the flight was postponed due to a “technical issue.”
The “flying bum” made by Hybrid Air Vehicles, took off finally from Cardington airfield near London.
The flight wasn’t long, but it drew a crowd of hundreds, I mean of course people would want to fly in the giant ass. The 302-foot aircraft combines elements of “fixed wing aircraft and helicopters with lighter-than-air technology,” resulting in a Frankenstein-esque behemoth that its creator’s saycan stay in the air for over two weeks unmanned.
AP says that the Airlander 10 was initially created for the US military, who wanted to use it “for surveillance in Afghanistan,” but the plan was called-off.
Airlander 10 uses helium to stay afloat and according to Hybrid Air Vehicles, it can also withstand a number of bullet holes, and operates in all weather conditions.
Wow, it seems to be a really strong flying butt.
