Yes! Magazine names Pia Wurtzbach as “Person of the Year”

Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach was named as the “Person of the Year” by Yes! Magazine.

On her Instagram account, the Filipina-German beauty queen thanked the local magazine for the lovely piece they wrote about her.

According to the magazine, aside from the beauty of Pia’s face, brain, and soul, what makes her the most beautiful woman in the universe is her own story.
“It inspires and it empowers. It is about dreams as much as it is about adversities. It is the story of everyone’s journey through life,” the magazine said.
Last August 1, Pia was also named as the “sexiest woman alive” by Esquire Philippines.
The magazine made the announcement through its official Facebook page.

A photo of the magazine’s August issue was posted on the page with the reigning Miss Universe on its cover. A blurb on the magazine’s cover reads: “Pia Wurtzbach is the Sexiest Woman Alive.”
Esquire Philippines’ Facebook post read: “Seven months after her coronation and more than halfway into her reign, Miss Universe comes home, strips down, and bares the heart beneath her confident beauty. She speaks to ESQUIRE about pageantry, persistence, and practicing what she preaches.”
The beauty queen is currently based in New York for the duration of her reign as she fulfills her duties as the reigning Miss Universe which include traveling to different areas around the globe to perform charity work and speaking for awareness occasions as a goodwill ambassador.

Last July, Pia paid a courtesy call on President Rodrigo Duterte at the Malacañang Palace to discuss the possibility of holding the next Miss Universe beauty pageant in the Philippines.
The meeting proved to be fruitful as it has been confirmed that the prestigious beauty pageant will be held in our country on January 30, 2017.
