This weekend, Mario Maurer visited the country to promote the tourism in Thailand to his Filipino fans but along with his short visit rumors about his relationship with Cacai Bautista revived.
On August 7, Cacai Bautista responded three heart emojis on a photo posted by ABS-CBN’s content unit head Ian Reyno on Facebook which again ignited the past controversy of having romantically linked to Mario Maurer. The thread between Cacai and Ian continued until the comedian named dropped “Joyce” presuming to Joyce Ramirez, lead publicist of Publicity Asia Worldwide handling Mario Maurer’s endorsement. In this comment, Cacai revealed that she’s not allowed to come close to Mario Maurer by jokingly said
Due to this comment, Joyce Ramirez confirmed the reason why Cacai Bautista was prohibited to visit Mario Maurer during his stay in the country. According to the publicist, Thai agents told on their meeting that they have advised Mario Maurer since 2013 to keep a friendly distance with Cacai Bautista to avoid rumors of having a romantic affair with the comedian.
“Those gossips created are false and we are well aware of the source of such malicious story. That person has since been banned and as I understand security has been tightened around the actor for all official trips to the country.The Thai reps has also kept records of news clips tracked in the Philippines and have consulted with their local partners on how to best manage the negative impact (of the false rumor) on the reputation of the actor,” Joyce stated.
Later, Cacai Bautista reacted on her facebook page and told:

Cacai Bautista and Mario Maurer first met in 2012 for the film “Suddenly It’s Magic” where Mario Maurer played the lead role opposite Erich Gonzales.
