The second most powerful “drug lord” in Cebu surrendered last night, August 7.
In a press conference, Philippine National Police Chief Ronald ‘Bato’ dela Rosa introduced Franz Sabalones as a drug lord of equal stature with Jeffrey “Jaguar” Diaz, the top dog of illegal drug trade in Central Visayas who died in a shootout with the police last June 17.
“Siya yung ka-level ni Jaguar na yung namatay dun sa Cebu. Mataas si Jaguar sa kanya, siya yung number two,” dela Rosa said.
Sabalones was accompanied by his brother San Fernando, Cebu Vice Mayor Fralz, who claimed he was “mistakenly identified” by President Rodrigo Duterte.
