“I have directed the MPD to see to it that the culprit is captured and brought to court to face charges. To the family of Mr. Geralde, our condolence. I assure you that justice will be given,” the mayor said.
He also assured assistance to the 18-year old student who was hit by a stray bullet during the incident. Rocel Bondoc was hit in the spinal cord by a stray bullet from Tanto’s gun.
Currently, she is admitted and is in a critical condition at an intensive care unit of the Mary Chiles Hospital.
Estrada said that he personally knows Bondoc. He recommended her admission to the city-run Universidad de Manila.
“Rocel is one of our city scholars, a bright student and has a very bright future ahead. It pains me to see her in the hospital, wounded,” he said. He promised to help Bondoc get back on track with her studies. | ASCS
