Road rage suspect receives ‘villain’s welcome’ from ‘Bato’

Now that he was caught, the suspect in the road rage incident in Quiapo that killed a cyclist and injured a bystander last Monday will receive a “villain’s welcome” from the PNP chief himself.

PNP Chief Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa said that Vhon Tanto will be brought to the Manila Police District early morning on Saturday. He was arrested in Masbate on Friday.

“Bukas pagdating niya dun, puntahan namin. We’ll give him a villain’s welcome, not a hero’s welcome,” Dela Rosa said. “Ang villain’s welcome is yung nakakamatay na mura, nakakamatay na tingin. Basta yung kung pwedeng matunaw na lang siya sa kinauupuan niya.”

According to NCR Police Office Chief Oscar Albayalde, Tanto will be escorted by authorities and will travel by land from Masbate. He is set to be presented to the media at 7 a.m. Saturday.

Tanto will be filed murder and frustrated murder charges for killing cyclist Mark Vincent Geralde and injuring a bystander in the road rage incident.

Moreover, Dela Rosa said that he will teach the suspect how to throw good punches so he wouldn’t lose in fistfights anymore.

“Si Tanto, tuturuan ko yun ng boxing dahil mahina siya sa suntukan. Kaya bumunot siya ng baril dahil napahiya siya eh, nabugbog siya. Pasiga-siga tapos mahina pala sa suntukan. Turuan ko yun bukas ng tamang suntok, paano mag-boxing,” he said. | ASCS
