Look: Enforcer makes jaywalking students sing the national anthem or recite Panatang Makabayan to discipline them

MANILA, Philippines – A traffic enforcer manning the streets outside a university in Angeles, Pampanga has adopted an unconventional approach to disciplining jaywalking students — by making them sing the national anthem or recite the Panatang Makabayan.

On his Facebook, a certain Ru Musngi posted a picture of the yet-unidentified enforcer in action. In the photo he can be seen listening to three students he caught jaywalking; apparently reciting the Panatang Makabayan.

“Kudos to this traffic enforcer who patrols the intersection along AUF-SCC (Angeles University Foundation-Sports and Cultural Center). He forces jaywalkers (especially students) to either sing the National Anthem or recite the Panatang Makabayan.
Musngi also said the enforcer does it to teach students to follow the law and to keep them safe.
“I got the chance to talk to him the other day and he told me that he imposes these somehow harsh punishments to teach students how to follow the law,” Musngi said. “He added that he’s doing this not for his personal entertainment but to prevent pedestrians from getting hit by rushing vehicles coming from all sides of the intersection.”
Ending his post, Musngi urged the public to thank the enforcer or give him a bottle of water for the good job he’s doing if they should ever meet him.
“If you get the chance to visit AUF, please give him a bottle of water or thank him because he is doing a great job. Or better yet, for the love of everything that is holy, do not jaywalk,” he said.
