LONDON, England – Kiran Sheikh was abandoned when she was just two hours old by her own mother who was in an abusive relationship the time she was born.

A story on Mirror Co UK said that Kiran’s mother delivered on the phone booth and decided to abandon her there.
The mother tried calling some Samaritans and directed them to the phone booth where she delivered. However, the newborn was found by Joel Campbell, who was 32 years old at the time, on April 30, 1994, at Forest Gate, east London before the Samaritans arrived.
Campbell initially mistook the baby for thrown bags of chips, but soon realized it was a baby, so he called police immediately.
The newborn was named “April” (after the month in which she was born) at Newham General Hospital and then was given Joel’s surname.
The baby was later adopted by a loving family and renamed her Kiran. It was only when she was eight that she was told the truth about her coming into the world.

Campbell, who’s now 54, sent gifts and birthday cards for the first five years of Kiran’s life, but then social services asked him to cut ties and asked him not to contact her again.
I was allowed a picture with her, which I kept,” said Campbell, who said he asked about adopting the baby himself, but was turned down as he was not married then.
After 22 years, the pair met for the first time in central London.
“I am so overwhelmed, this is unbelievable,” Kiran said.
“I’ve been waiting 15 years to meet him and he’s finally here. He was the second person to hold me after my mother, it’s incredible,” she added.
Nicole Le Marie mentioned in her story for Metro that Campbell came to know about Kiran’s appeal to find her savior through a newspaper given by his friend.
“This is a beautiful, beautiful day. I am so glad she has got in touch after all this time, I have never forgotten her. I can’t believe she found me,” Campbell said.
“As I was walking towards the phone box, I could see what looked like chip wrappers on the floor – it annoyed me that people couldn’t pick up their mess. But just before I got to the door, I realized there was a tiny life form wrapped inside,” he added; remembering what happened.
Kiran, who has always lived a few streets away in Forest Gate, said, “He says anyone would have done what he did, but they wouldn’t. It’s so amazing to have been reunited with him.”
“He’s my hero. We lived down the road from each other for years, we must have passed each other, and I can’t believe we were so close,” she added.
