A husband has been taken into custody after attacking and killing a man attempting to rape his wife inside an apartment building in the Bronx on May 30.
The man, identified by police as 43-year-old Earl Nash, forcibly entered a 51-year-old woman’s home and began to hit her, causing bruises to her face, while removing her clothes, according to an NYPD statement. Upon breaking free, the woman grabbed a cell phone and dialed her husband, 61-year-old Mamadou Diallo.
A witness stated Nash had been going door-to-door, knocking and asking for water. When the woman opened the door, Nash pushed his way inside.
Diablo, who was outside the building, sprinted toward to the apartment and faced a fleeing Nash in an elevator, where he began to beat him, causing severe trauma to his head and body.
The Daily News reported that Diallo used a tire iron to relentlessly beat Nash, who had first struck Diallo several times with a belt.
