Spectacular footage has captured the moment the world's biggest bonfire towers 155ft high as it burns from the top down.
The inferno was made up of wooden pallets and measured a whopping 47.4 metres tall - the same height as the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
Residents from the Norweigan town of Alesund built the giant structure for the traditional midsummer festival , held on June 25.
Several
videos of the bonfire have now been posted online and show the huge
tower built on a small rocky platform surrounded by water.
As dusk falls, the bonfire is lit from the top before the burning flames make their way down to the bottom of the structure.
Nearby boats can be seen hosing the bonfire down with a flammable liquid, in a bid to help it catch fire.
Eventually, the full structure catches fire, as onlookers watch the blaze.
