In an article written by Ian Cruz and ALG of GMA News, it was disclosed that Ramos confirmed he has accepted the position during his two-hour meeting with Duterte at the Marco Polo Hotel in Davao City. Duterte’s peace adviser, Jesus Dureza, was also in the meeting. To note, Dureza was Ramos’ presidential spokesperson and assistant for Mindanao during his time. Special envoy to China Last July 14, during a testimonial dinner in San Juan City, Duterte revealed that he had asked Ramos to represent the country in negotiations on the territorial disputes with China.
