While the world is still grasping the magnitude of sorrow the Nice terror attack caused on July 14, this British tourist was upset that the event “Spoiled” her shopping day.
Lucy Nesbitt-Comaskey, while talking to Sky News said: “Maybe this is awful and maybe a bit selfish but it did spoil our shopping trip.” “We bought all this lovely shopping and now I can’t be bothered with it. It doesn’t mean anything now,” she said.
Since her interview she has faced a lot of backlash from people which prompted Nesbitt-Comaskey to issue a Facebook apology.
“I’m deeply sorry if my interview with Sky News sounded un compassionate,” she wrote on her profile, which is now unavailable publicly. “I was totally distressed and shocked. My words came out wrong.”
But in all fairness she was in shock too and in the heat of the interview was at loss for words.
But that’s not all she said, she gave a lot of information besides her little mishap so we can be sure that she was not completely selfish and heartless.
She said about hearing gunshots. “I said to my friend ‘This doesn’t sound like fireworks, it sounds like Beirut when it’s under attack’,” she said. “People were screaming and running… It was shocking, it was devastating.”
